Today’s project was once a stall. Now it is a magnificent country house, not only impressive but also practical and most importantly energetically independent. Its south orientation, the use of solar panels, and the natural spring water with small turbines makes it possible. Superimposed volumes, open spaces and large floor to ceiling windows introduce the landscape into the home. Water is the main feature of this dwelling, and everything else revolves around it. The fountain in the courtyard, the infinity pool, the cantilever basin that overflow in the shower, it’s all about the water. Certainly, Scarpa was in their mind.
The careful choice of furniture from different periods and styles, the delicate lighting and the pieces of art, provide a natural feeling and harmonious beauty to the house. To reinforce the contrast of modern clean lines and aged elements, modern cement and iron beams were perfectly combined with well-used stone, recovered wood, and local rock
