Hans Verstuyft team of architects renovated this house in Antwerp. The use of natural materials defines this sober space, where the hardness of the predominant concrete is softened with the warmth of natural wood creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Natural light floods the space through the opening in the ceiling where an array of planks is used to create an interesting perspective, and to add profundity. The exterior seems to merge with the interior creating exciting vistas, and the ¨emptiness¨ helps the beauty to be expressed more powerfully.
True to their own style, this project is no exception in telling a story rather than being trendy. Definitely, a space to last.
